The Discovery STEM Academy's curriculum features an innovative, problem-based learning design rooted in STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Each unit includes a real-world problem that students must solve by assuming a potential career and applying learning gained throughout the unit of study. Students work collaboratively using a design process that encourages critical thinking and problem solving.

Our educators prepare young learners to be accomplished problem solvers, with strong communication and computer skills, ready to become socially responsible citizens. We create innovative learning experiences to connect ideas across subject areas for deeper learning.

At Newsome Park, technology is an integral part of each day's learning; students use technology to gather, analyze and communicate information. Magnet students have the opportunity to concentrate their studies within a well-balanced academic program. Like all elementary students, they will receive a solid foundation in reading, language arts, social studies, the arts, and health and physical education in addition to math, science and technology.

The STEM program at Crittenden is designed to empower students by developing their abilities to activate future-ready skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Crittenden magnet students will maintain academic excellence while becoming creative problem solvers prepared to be responsible citizens in a global society.

Crittenden magnet students will experience innovative instruction in all core subjects in classes taught by STEM-trained teachers. Students will apply the problem solving processes of engineering design, design thinking and computational thinking to solve real-world problems.

The state and nationally recognized program at Heritage High School Governor's STEM Academy expands options for students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The program combines academic coursework and research experience with a challenging and focused school environment to prepare students with high-wage and high-demand careers. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in technologically rich workplaces by learning how to work in teams, communicate effectively and apply the principles of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The magnet program is designed to provide students in grades nine through twelve the opportunity to explore several STEM career paths. The program prepares students for bachelor's degrees, two-year associate's degrees, apprenticeships and employment.
