Career & Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a great starting point for any career!
If you are headed to a four-year college or university, two-year college, the military, or straight to work, Career and Technical Education programs in your public schools can connect you to any path you choose.
CTE is a planned program of courses and learning experiences that begins with exploration of career options, supports basic academic and life skills, and enables achievement of high academic standards, leadership, preparation for industry-defined work, and advanced and continuing education.
College Ready
CTE prepares students to succeed in the workplace and post secondary education. High School Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to obtain Dual Enrollment college credits through Virginia Peninsula Community College (VPCC) while taking a Career and Technical Education course.
Career Ready
CTE delivers instruction through a sequenced course of study. Each CTE course is designed around industry standards to ensure that each program offers high-quality instruction for high-wage, high-demand, and high-skill careers in fields such as health care, business, and the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) area.
